Coming to know God through the spiritual exercises of Socratic dialogue

- Restoring Faith Through Divine Revelation

Welcome

Hero’s Journey are dedicated to bringing hope in a time when we are experiencing a collective meaning crisis.

For this purpose we offer retreats, workshops and trainings with one primary goal - to intimately know God in a participatory way and establish or revitalise a life in faith.

Our aim is for individuals to find connection with the divine through revelation, that which is ultimately fulfilling - ‘the peace’ that satisfies the longing within our hearts.

Through ‘dyads’, a simple form of contemplative, peer to peer self inquiry that have their roots in the ancient philosophy of the Western (Platonic-Christian) tradition , together, encouraged in fellowship, we address life’s big existential questions such as ‘Who am I?’. What am I? What is Life? Who or what is God?

The steps of the practice hold the West’s archetypal way to redemptive revelation, through genuine mystical encounter- restoring faith and hope, re-invoking the capabilities and faculties to know truth and participate in Reality, through the grace of the living Logos.

It’s a way of being reconciled to what is most fundamental to us and is often described as a ‘homecoming’.

“Do not go outward; return within yourself. Truth dwells in the inner man; and if you find that your nature is changeable, transcend yourself. But remember, in transcending yourself, you transcend to Him who made you.”

— St. Augustine, Confessions X.6.9

Although set within the context & languaging of the Christian faith & philosophy, there is no requirement to adopt any belief or creed, no prior experience necessary, simply the desire to know the Truth.

It is for the common man & woman, the alcoholic or addict, the fallen and those with the desire to know.
